"I'd like to say that it was a great pleasure for me to find such an unexpected haven during my 1,000 mile tour to visit my English family. In fact, I returned to the Hartnoll a second time because I'd enjoyed such a relaxing time there, enjoying the house and its garden ambience. I'd like to comment on your staff, whom I found quite unusually kind, thoughtful, polite and obviously extremely well-selected with a keen eye to service. I was particularly impressed with the lass who very thoughtfully chose to alter my accommodation to the main house from the stables, despite having a "full House" saying she "wanted to have me under the main roof". I appreciated that so much as a single female traveller. Not only is your hotel very comfortable and beautifully appointed, I found it quite on par with other world-class boutique establishments and I travel a lot, both overseas and within Australia. For instance, the bed & linen was reminiscent of that at the Wentworth in Sydney - a rare find.

It was a pleasure to meet you too and I'll certainly be staying at the Hartnoll on my next visit and recommending it to my travelling friends and English travel agent. I would also be interested in staying at Syon House on the coast, as you recommended to me."

"We had a lovely evening on Saturday. The style, menu and venue were ideal and all of the family commented very positively on that. Dad was really delighted having struggled slightly to find a happy medium between allowing us to arrange things with minimal involvement from him and wanting to take charge completely! The food and wine were excellent with all dishes being thoroughly enjoyed. I thought the Beef Wellington was superb while others loved the Salmon and Chicken. Your colleagues must also be praised for finding the right balance of being attentive and friendly without being intrusive or over zealous on serving/clearing. We had a very relaxed and well paced evening and Dad had a fantastic birthday weekend. The only comment I would make was that the cheese board was overly generous - it would have taken a much larger party to have done it justice! Many thanks for all your advice and assistance in making it such a success."

"Thankyou for a very enjoyable stay at your hotel. We received a very warm welcome and excellent service from all your staff. The decor, furnishings and under floor heating gave the rooms a very cosy and intimate feel. The meals were lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable especially after three exhausting evenings of rock and rolling! We will be back and will definitely recommend this luxury hotel to all our friends."

"We we had a fantastic weekend at your hotel and are delighted we chose it. We could not fault any aspect of our stay, in fact I have to ask you to personally thank the chef for me. On Saturday we wanted to have dinner in the hotel but as my wife is vegetarian there were not too many options on the menu, I asked one of the waitressess if she sould ask the chef for an alternative and then booked a table for 9. When we got to the restaurant there was a special menu waiting for us with 3 choices of starter and main, I chose a vegetarian dish as well as my wife and both dishes were beautiful and we had a fantastic evening. Please pass on my sincere thanks to the chef as this sort of service rarely gets recognised and it made our weekend"
